The
IP Storage Networking
under
Computer Network Internet Engineering (CNIE)
at Center for Development of Advanced Computing (CDAC) Mumbai, peforms extensive research and apply the same effectively in the field of Storage Area Networking.
The objective of the group is to address the various needs of e-governance projects and SMB segment using block level storage network solution in the most economical, high performance and effective manner. To meet this, the group ‘s major focus has been on building IP storage area network (SAN) using iSCSI protocol which provides block access over the TCP/IP network. IP SAN can be used as a network storage as well has an additional advantage of supporting disaster recovery (DR).
In this process, the group has got its indigenous storage based DR appliance, Revival 1000, launched by Dr. F.C. Kohli in 2010 and deployed it in a government mission mode project, National Service Delivery Gateway (NSDG).
The focus of research in this group include:
-
High Performance SAN
-
iSCSI in Mobile Environment
-
Secure iSCSI
-
Disaster Recovery & Business Continuity
-
